Hey guys picked up a super nice ‘47 fleetmaster running project. this weekend. Guy before me had put in a power dual master cylinder but didn’t hook up any lines. Some what new to dual masters, it has 4 spots to run lines, still running the stock drums on the car. Am I able to just use two of the holes for front and back brakes (one front bowl, one back bowl) and block off the other two? thanks.
Front port (the one farthest from the push rod) on master goes to the rear brakes, rear port (closest to the brake pedal) goes to front brakes.
Okay, awesome that was my next question about the ports. I figured it was opposite of a firewall mount just wanted to make sure. Also interesting to know about the grill, it is ***led and vin verified as a 47 so interesting. Pretty excited about the car, paint could use some love but looks decent from 20ft. Got a smoking deal, for the fact I traded my '78 Monza straight up for it and it needed a TON of work.
Fun coupe...here was my '46.....keep us up to date on your progress...easy to put disc brakes on the front if you decide, bolt on kit....
I want to know if it’s a manual drum (both reservoirs the same) or a disk drum Chevy or Ford. They swapped ends as to which end get’s to big reservoir.
So had about 20 mins to crawl under the car tonight with flag football and gymnastics. So I believe this is the kit I have right here. I was absolutely baffled about how the clutch hooks up but as I am typing this it’s hitting me after reading the website the original master sits top of this mount as there was plenty of room. Please advise me if I am wrong.
Never mind as I crawl under again there is no room. So I am stumped to how the clutch hooks up, as there is no other pivot arms.
This is stock, if you have the stock fork and related pieces it can be made to work with later chevy drivetrain.
