    Thank you Bob!

For Sale: 1947 Ford 5 P***enger Coupe (Long Door, Sedan Coupe).

Motivated seller! I need to find a new home for this coupe. I am lowering the price to $17,500, but please consider making me an offer. Again, the worst I can do is say no.

This car is an early ’47 coupe even though it looks like a ’46 model. Henry Ford didn’t like wasting inventory so at the beginning of a new model year it wasn’t uncommon for cars to roll off the ***embly line with trim and other features from the previous model year which is the case here.

The car is in excellent condition inside and out and other than being slightly lowered, it is stock with the original flathead V8. The car has been converted to 12 volt but still has the vacuum style windshield wipers. The car runs and drives really well – I flew down to Florida a few years ago when I bought it and drove it back 1300 miles to Wisconsin and it never missed a beat. The car has been restored and has about 12,800 miles on the restoration. There is no rust anywhere on the car (I don’t know if it ever had rust – the previous owner told me he got it out of west Texas) and the interior has been completely redone top to bottom as well.

I will be keeping the Torq Thrusts that are shown on the front of the car in a few pictures, and the swan neck cowl mirrors have been changed out for 4” clamp-on peep mirrors on both doors.

As nice as the car is, it is not perfect. Both of the window regulators could stand to be rebuilt or replaced – they work but they require some finesse to use. The driver’s side door window is cracked and should be replaced (the rest of the gl*** is good). The car will leave oil drips in your driveway. The paint has some hazing on the driver’s door and there are a few chips and small scratches here and there.

Last fall I installed an original NOS Sig-Flare turn signal unit. Turn signals, brake lights, dash lights, and parking lights all work, but the headlights do not. – I am still trying to figure out what the issue is. The car does not have a heater – it did not come with one. I have bought an original style heater that will come with the car but it will need to be restored and it will also need the correct heater switch if you are looking to restore it.

I am looking to trade for $18,000 cash. I have a clean, clear ***le in hand.

Thanks for looking at my ad,

    Thor
