Well, since I can't legally drive my recently acquired 47 Coupe, I pulled it out of the garage to circulate the fluids. Also just to admire during my 4th of July celebrating. Made an appt. with the SOS to register the car, but earliest I could schedule is Oct 2nd.
Anyhoo. Went to put it back in the Garage last night. Nothing. Got power to ignition switch, but no power out. Last year for locking column till years later.
pulled switch apart. Contacts were pitted much like burned points. Cleaned everything and works as Henry intended. Only lasted 72 years ! Damned Fords ! 20200705_123700.jpeg tumblr_mkfcg9EC5s1qzk2apo1_500.jpg

That chimp has the right idea!!

  3. And you didn't need a computer to diagnose it, just a test light. Didn't need to replace the switch, just take it apart and clean the contacts.
