Front brake options for the wife's 1947 panel. I am looking at upgrading them to disk. There appear to be a few different kits available. Any opinions on '70s GM calipers / plate-style caliper mount vs a GM Metric caliper with a cast caliper mount?

    Thanks, VOH

I’m running a speedway kit that uses 74’ f truck 11 3/4 rotors and pre metric big gm calipers 5x5.5 bolt pattern. Clears stock wheels on my 46 ford car

I used the Speedway kit 910-31945 ('78-up GM caliper) on my '46, I went with the 5x4.5 bolt pattern rotors. The bolt pattern matches the 8.8 rear I have in it, so I have the same bolt pattern front and rear. The kit was a simple bolt in and it works great.

This is exactly what I am planning. I've got the 8.8" with the disk already.
