So I decided to take a leap and quit my full time job to stay home and build some cars. So true to my style I picked up an abandoned puppy that needed salvation.
A bit out of order, I had another rolling chassis sitting here so with a little farm toy help the body was switched to something a bit more useable. Parts were pulled off the shelf, @themoose pulled off his wizardry, and by god we have a direction.
A few other parts on the floor, a bit of tape, and the plan is getting closer. I still need to acquire these inner trim rings. Working on that yet. The debate rages on of straight vs slant B pillars. Pretty sure I will keep them straight.
While 2 of my tires are still on a fall leaf tour, ADD sidetracked me to make a clock out of a midget quick change, and I decided to take a day to pick up some seats. That brings us to current in about 4 weeks I still work my old job at more hours than I agreed to so progress has been slow.
I have a busy week with work and helping my son move but hope to have the chop looking like something for the grand opening party.
Tires are all here now. Caps, inner, and outer trim rings are here. Had to do a bit of dirt and rock work around the building this week. Finish moving my son to his new house then hope to get a couple days shop work in before cleaning up for the party.
You can see another roof I had in my stash that I pulled out just in case. I figured I would try to save this roof if I could. Still a ways to go yet but it’s closer. And yes I may have been stashing stuff for awhile in preparation. I figure I will be my own best customer for awhile.
Rainy day cleaning. We got our son moved in to his new place. Fixed a few things painted etc. pouring rain, pushing 3” so far today, so I tried putting the front end on the Krustom. I believe they used an axe to remove it.
I'd recommend using the stock grill with the top bar filled in, Fords don't look as good with a plymouth grill, just because it's easy to do dosen't make it look good. Like this:
I like the way the Plymouth grill bars extend out under the headlights. To me it adds to the styling of the car . The stock grill fills a hole put there at the factory. After all this is a Kustom car forum . But that’s my opinion

Has she got a name?......The Pic of the Ute...Priceless...I'm moved by these Images many times...Damn near heavenly really...Good Times are here again...
With the shop party in the past, it’s time to get busy on the Krustom again. I sure wish I would’ve started with a nicer car but I sure didn’t care about cutting this one up either Shop dog 1 says all of the excitement of the last 3 days has her wore out
Showed my wife this thread and she said, found someone worse than you huh. Haven’t got a clue what she meant by that. Ha ha.
