It's been a busy year but still chipping away at it slowly. Three customer cars and 15 weeks travelling for my "part time" job make things happen a little slower than I like. Maybe next year...
Well, since I cut the crusty off the bottom of the decklid, I decided I’m already so far behind, what’s a bit more Kustom decklid shape and tail pan it is I must be stupid or like self abuse Rough shape done, now the hard part. Make it all work.
Following the line of the fenders around the rear. Lincoln skirts and trim should be here tomorrow for further self abuse.
Lincoln skirts and lower trim showed up a bit of rework to make it all work on a Ford, but not terrible
Being a human English Wheel can do that but it's incredibly admirable what your up to always @justabeater37. Thanks for sharing the journey...I was just envisioning this and the Ute strategically positioned in a photo op...wicked. Is there going to be a tray to the bumper or will it flush to the back panel you are fabbing?
There will be a small gravel pan as the profile of the bumper isn't perfectly matched to the car. Here a pic of a few together. The Blue model A is off to it's home, the Black 32 is at upholstery so I am working on his black model A while we wait on the 32. Being a one man shop plus the part time job I took on gets to be long days/weeks where there doesn't seem to be much going on. It will be two years full years that I started the shop officially on Jan 1.
Now the fun of making a crooked decklid fit where it didn’t. Part of the reason, I cut this decklid off, was it never fit the car to begin with. When the previous work was done and they welded the fenders to the body, something is still definitely crooked, and I’m not going to dig deep enough into it to fix all of that. Probably would’ve been easier in the long run, though But it is a custom after all…
Hit with hammers. Stand back. Repeat as necessary. T******* it up and folding edges. Plus a finger pull idea.
Sadly, no. I have been busy with so much other stuff it got sat in the corner for a while and hasn't been touched in a while. Between throwing another 32 3 window parts pile back in to something resembling a car, building a beater 31 A roadster, a shiny and chrome 32 roadster, getting my own RPU on the road, building a channeled big block 32 5 window, remodeling my sons kitchen, building a horse shed for my wife, and traveling for the part time job I took on for extra funds, I run out time at the end of the day.
