    Hi!

I have a '47 Pontiac and the door extensions were missing when I bought the car. I bought new extensions and tried to align them to the front fender.
The front door extension's top is level to the front fender or is it just a little under it?It would be nice if it would be in level but I can't open the door then. It scratches the extension's top. The side of the extension is OK, it's nearly in level to the fender and open inside the fender. It seems to me this is impossible to set them level to each other because the fender scratches the extension's top.
Maybe you guys can you send me closer pictures of your cars? (when the door is closed)
I got one pic of a Chevy owner and it seems the extension is a little bit under the front fender. It's a little bit backward but it's under than that.

I attached the Chevy's and the Pontiac's picture.

What do you think? Unfortunately I can't see any cars from that era because here are no similar fat fendered cars. (Hungary)

The fender extensions [door caps] are mounted down from the top rear edge of the front fender and are not flush. The caps have a folded or tapered leading edge that goes under the rear edge of the front fender when the door is opened.
Do you have the smaller (A) body [25 or 27] or larger (B) body [26 or 28] as the door caps (Extensions) are different lengths I believe. The 'A' body caps are more squat in shape by comparison to the longer 'B' body caps.
A bit of a PITA to get right as the upper fender needs to be flush with door when closed as does the rear of the hood.

I was about to reply and saw mgtstumpy's response. It's all there.
Ps Mgt stumpy, have we met? I'm on the north side. We should catch up for a beer or a coffee depending on the time of the morning. My mobile is 0472760019.
I'm in Perth for another week rebodying a Jenson.

Yup. Goes under the fender by whatever amount you need to not drag under the fender when the door opens. Remember, panel gap then was IMG_6023.JPG NOT what it is today. They really fit for crap, but get 'em as close as you can and call it good.

Thank you! Do you mean the extension is a little under of the front fender when the doors are closed? I installed them this way.
