Easter weekend.......this is when the whole Barris stable would go down to Balboa with all the Kustoms to go party and dance at the Rendezvous Ballroom and of coarse show off their cars. The era of this thread is when they started bringing all the sleds down. They called it Balweek,I had to go down there today just out of respect for the past. Happy Easter fellow Custom Lovers.
Can always count on you to point this stuff out Jeff Must be a good time for customs. I actually found my 41 Buick Six years ago tonight, bought it six years ago Easter morning.
Curt Six, have you posted pics of your buick on here? I dont know if it doesn't fit, but from your avatar it looks stunning!!!
Thanks...the only thing that lies better than pictures are REALLY small pictures. My car is definitely headed in th pre-52 custom direction, but not far enough along to really belong on here yet. I'm actually out of town and reading this on my phone (nerd), and the only photo I have of my car is this photo I took when I was mocking up some skirts (that I'm not sure I'm going to use) very late one night recently.
My friend Paul Garland just sent me this photo of his Ford, and I just have to add it here. His metal work skills are enviable - check those sail panels. Love love love this car.
Sylvian.... great pictures.Where and when did you take em ? Peterson museum ? I think that was Duncuns Emmons' Ford.Car is simply stunning to me.Thanks for posting these.I have to check my pictures but I think it's the same car as the one I shot in Culver City years ago.
Yes, Duncan Emmons' Ford. I took these shots during de-installation of the Kustoms with a "K" exhibit at the Petersen in 2004. Here are a few more shots (including Duncan's Matranga Merc re-creation) ... (Sorry, off subject with the Watson T-Bird but I couldn't resist....) .
