After a 3 inch chop that took way too long, I'm back on the road in time for spring and some great driving weather. I still have to cut the window mouldings and vent wings, but that will have to wait for now.
Thanks for the interest in my coupe, I stopped on the way to the H8R's bar-b-que and snapped a few more pictures. Hope you fellas enjoy them.
Really nice... very creative out of the box thinking, and still maintaining that really great late 1940's custom feel.
Steve Gilligan took these two photos of Tom Black's 1941 Cadillac Custom... Very nice 1940's feel. Personally I would bring the back down a bit for the ultimate taildragger / speedboat stance, and put some wider whites on it. But WOW... makes you wonder why we do not see more like this being built today.
that Caddy is stunning!! Those couple changes sure would make it perfect Rick. Very much like the Ogden/Pisano Buick...awesome indeed
Great looking Cad,I know what I would do for the stance but I would rather see it the way it sits now then laying frame.Gorgeous car
WOW!!! Now we're talking. Finally someone that builds a truly nice 1941 Cadillac Convertible. Some small changes, like the above mentioned plus 112's and shaving off the hood from the hood ornament/center moulding and the text. Then it is a perfect car. Very impressed here. Never saw that car before. I wonder if he has modified 1941 Buick fastback coupe side trim, like I bought for my -41 Cad. Since these cars came without any side trim, it sure looks good when someone makes that effort and install it. I am not sure how I shall do on my 1940 LaSalle Conv.
Awsome tail light mod on the 41! Bob, the grill on mine is 3/16 round stock in a frame bolted to the back side of the sheet metal surround thats welded to the rest of the front end. You can still see where the stock 46 grill was. I tried to do it in a style that would have been fabbed up in that time. I actually for a while had a 49 chevy grill cut down on there but it looked too 50's barris-ish.
