We need to get the handle re-chromed and can not get the lock out. We did get a c clip out of the top. The bottom part has a key code. There looks like a pin just above this code. There is also a square pin that slides back and forth below the numbers. This must lock and unlock the trunk. can anyone explain how this comes apart? This lock is for the 1948 chevy aerosedan 2 door car. We also need some bottom grill pieces as two of our pieces are eat thru on the end. Thanks for any help. Will anyone be at Hershey with parts for this car?

I'm pretty sure the key mechanism twists out with the key, if you have it.

Hi Kustomcl***ics. We do have the key and have turned and sprayed Gibbs, also pushed in and out. Nothing seems to work. I think we will let her sit over night and see if we can budge it apart tomorrow. Thanks Just for info....
We removed the c clip by the key on the handle and down by the key code number is a very small hole by the last number. This hole contains a small pin that needs to be driven out with a #3 finishing nail or even drilled out. Once the pin is out the square pin that slides back and forth as you turn the key will fall out as you remove the lock mechanism. Inside there is also a spring. We are always very pleased with the help from the HAMP.
