Hi Guys, I just purchased a 48 Chevy COE. Plan on doing a mid engine car hauler. It will be a slow build as I have a bunch of other irons in the fire. I got the cab off the original frame and mounted on a roll cart for easy moving around. The first thing on the agenda is to get the doors in good operating order. The hinges are pretty bad. Is it best to order hinge repair kits for a pickup? Everything I read is saying except COE. I noticed that the upper hinge sticks out on a COE but is not visible on a pick up.

Thanks verde742. That makes sense. The uppers are obviously not the same as a pickup, but maybe the lowers are? Any suggestions on a source for parts? Thanks

just start sniffing, I believe '48- early '55 Chevs> GMC are the same .
seems like when ya buy one, others just come to ya..

I rebuilt the hinges on my 40 with some bushings from Mc Master Car and pins from one of the truck parts companies.
