  1. I have a 48 desoto my plan was to rebuild the flat head and get a kit to adapted a t5 tenant to it. I’m having a hard time with the adaptOr kit most are for fords. I was wondering if anyone has an original bell housing and 3 speed ****** for the flat heads for sale

If you are looking for a direct replacement for your stock fluid drive trans, I believe that dodge, desoto or Chrysler will work. However there may be differences in tailshaft length, and therefore driveshaft length. There are often very cheap early mopar driveline parts on FB marketplace, Craigslist and the like. Or check with French Lake auto parts, they almost certainly would have one.

If you want to do away with the fluid drive you can use a standard clutch transmission (99% out of plymouths) but due to the different length bellhousing, your driveshaft will likely be too short. Again, you can source this, or have a driveshaft shop make us one, and upgrade to modern Ujoints at the same time. This would still be easier than swapping the to, since you retain factory transmission mounted parking brake (no need for rear dif swap) and you get to keep the column shift, which for us guys under 60, is way cooler than a big s10 ***** shoved up in your... driving space.
Good luck, and hope you can get it back on the road!
