1948 F-1 hood

There was a thread running in 2003 on F-1 front ends. I’m finally getting my 48 finished. Had to resort to taking it to a shop to get it done. Too many life interruptions and now with a new hip in a 90 year old body I give up on finishing it myself. Well what I’m up against is the under side of the hood doesn’t have any braces! What should it have?

There is really only two. The radiator cowl at the front of the hood, and a brace at the back that supports the hinges.
