1948 fender question

    Are all models of 1948 ford rear fenders interchangeable? Can i put sedan rears on a convertible? Thanks.

    As far a I know all fenders in any year are interchangable(41-48). That goes for front fenders and running boards. Exception could possibly be a woodie rear fenders.
    Fordor and short door coupe doors are the same. Actually Fordors and Sedans are virtually the same body except for the extra doors on a Fordor. I ***ume a Coupe and a convertible basically the same body

    I think sedan delivery might be different as well.

  5. late 47 and 48 rear fenders are the same. The difference between them and the 47 early and 42-46 is the cutout for the rear bumper brackets. Also fender trim hole location. 42-early 47 trim goes above the body line on the fender and late 47-48 goes below the belt line. Other than that all the rear fenders exchange except for sedan delivery and wagon. Pat

    The delivery ones are different we ran into that problem on a build we did about 10 yrs ago, but they can be worked to fit them though.
