Found a decent F2 today with a good running flathead and 4 speed. It needs rewiring and little rust repair in the doors. It has a flat bed on it which would have to go but otherwise in fairly good condition. Any idea of where to get a rplacement bed? What years would work? I don't know much about these trucks but is the F2 the same size body as the F1? What size engine came in these trucks? Thanks upfront for the info.

Cabs and hoods are the same as F1. Fenders interchange but only in pairs of uppers and lowers as the wheel opening is a bigger diameter on the F2/3 For beds try Carpenters, Sacramento Vintage Ford and Macs

The F2 bed is longer, to make the F1 bed fit the frame has to be cut in two places, 1 cut between the cab and the rear end and the other cut at the rear of the frame.

F2 were all longbeds. For F1's, 48-mid 50 were same with the a raised panel on each bed side. Late 50-52 had flat sides like later trucks. Dont know if F2's were the same. Had different tailgates, actually tailgate latches. The longbeds were also wider which required different fenders.

Thanks for setting me straight on the differences. Has anybody got any suggestions for an alternate to the stakebed and the conventional bed assuming I can't find one that I can afford? If I did put a regular bed on it, it would be an F1 bed. Would love to see some pics for ideas of what I could do with this truck.
    Thanks again,

Hey cool i have a 51 f-3 i hope someday to regain ambition and finish it Desoto hemi and 727 dropped right in. P/U box is a problem it's 54" wide and 8 ft long when the f-1 is 49" and 6 1/2 ft. i stumbled a cross a bed and almost have one kinda pieced togather but i still need to fix a lot, and early tailgates are almost impossable mine needs the whole bottom 2". You might be able to run a later bed with early fenders but i'm not sure
