Does any one know if the 1948 Lincoln speedo head cable attaches with the same female end as a standard male 49 thru 51 (at least)? Reason I ask is the pictures of the rear of the unit appear to have a smooth collar around the coupler and I cant see if there is thread or some sort of clip. I want to get the Lincoln unit and fit it to my 50 Crestliner Shoebox. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!

  2. The speedo cable end has male threads and the trans end has female threads. I have a 46 Linc. and they should be the same.

The Lincoln speedometer uses a 3/4-20 inverted nut, the ford uses a 5/8-18 standard nut. You would have to have the upper ferrule and nut changed or a new cable and housing made up to make it work. Not a big deal either way PM me if you need it done.
