Technical 1948 oldsmobile gas tank fitting

    Gentle Giant

    Finally got broken supply fitting out of tank. There is no nut on existing line. What size fitting do I need ? Is there supposed to be a pickup line in tank ? I assume some type of pipe thread fitting with a barb end ?

    How about showing a picture of what you have? Maybe then someone could come up with a solution to your problem.

    Looks like a female fitting on the tank. Then a 5/*16 line after that, Hard line to the front,.

    So npt fitting with a barb end and a piece of hose should work right

    Trying to post some pictures . Something went wrong.
    Will try when I get to the computer.
    Yes there is a tube inside the tank 5/16 size,bends down to bottom of tank at about the middle.
    You can do a barbed fitting but where it is located I would be worried something could hurt it
