Would there be a cheaper rubber seal for my back window ? 48 oldsmobile fastback coupe series 76 . Would black silicone look tacky ?

Not only would it look bad, but it wouldn't work either.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Olds wasn’t the same as other GM cars of the same years. I wasn’t looking for the one that took the stainless trim because at the time I was doing our 1940 Chevrolet I didn’t want it. I believe I bought what I needed by the foot and the fit it to the opening by pushing it in the groove as tight as I could to cut and fit. Then put the glass in it and installed with the split in the middle at the bottom. I bought the seal rubber from Steele.

  6. If you cut the seal due to other vehicle or generic by the foot; use super glue to glue back together. Cut real straight and flat and it will bond with almost invisible joint.

I guess the answers there weren’t satisfying?
