SOLD! SOLD! SOLD!! 1948 Studebaker Champion. This car looks to be absolutely rust free. 99% complete, only missing a few small items. Not sure of the condition of the engine, the hood release cable is broken and I haven't been able to address it. The car is extremely straight. The tires are new and the car steers and rolls easily. No brakes. I was told the vehicle had been stored inside for 25 years. It is only been outside for a couple of months at this point. I am having trouble adding photographs.
I put a used battery in it, splashed a little fuel in the carburetor and it fired for just a second. Unfortunately, I ran out of battery. I have now purchased a NEW battery for it but have yet to install it. I have been lubricating things each time I go up there. The doors open and close very nicely. Even the emergency brake works. The radio just hums but, it does come on. I found that the horn does not work and the switch for the Spotlight is Frozen. I will address these issues the next time I go up to the car.
Fired it up with a small gas can. The engine sounded great! Next week's project will be, clean the gas tank and lines, rebuild the carburetor and look at the brakes.
