Just wanted to toss in an update pic. Going to chop her next weekend then settle in for 6 months of body and paint. Last september. Today. Runnin and drivin. PS. Ether. It sure is too bad you had to cut up a perfectly good four door......Just shittin ya..your car looks killer. -Abone.
thanks Abone. i did have to think about it a couple of times but the two door donor was too cheap to not do it. keep us posted and if ya got any Q's on the chop, dont be afraid to ask. i gave mine a 4 in the back, and 3 out of the a-piller haircut. thats 4 inch vertical out back and wrapped 3 inch tape around the a-piller so it is really a 4 and a 2 3/4. ether
Kool Merc from the Mooneyes Christmas thing. Saw the Merc this morning on one of my favorite Web sites.. So Cal Car Culture. Love the grill! http://public.fotki.com/wackydave/car_shows/car-shows-2007/mooneyes-xmas-party/ More pictures of the Merc on page 13 & 14 Happy Trails, Mick
Thanks Rikster... I was going to guess Bailon because of the grill. Dave has a kool picture of the dash on his web site. Thanks for the info.. Happy Trails, Mick
Yes I saw that... very nice with the padded dash and chromed 49 pods... very nice. And many thanks for Dave for taking the great photos. Hope it will recieve some real gloss color one day!
Yes, the padded dash is way too kool. Being built by Bailon I'm surprised to see it done so mild and tastefull. I like a lot of his old stuff but sometimes he goes a little out of my taste zone....
Exactly what i thought ! last time i read about your car, it was supposed to be a Garcia build ! the chop is perfect for me, and works well with the side trim ! do you know what car is it from ?
Two of my old cars....(wish I still owned them both today.......) Merc was a 51/50 rear window. Split the top like Dick Dean does his. Gives the roof a nice look in the c pillar area.
Hey its my dads car, What do you know, I didint think he drove this thing any more. This car see's about 10 days a year and garage the rest of the time...
Full length roof. Look how close the top is to the trunk, not just slid forward. I used a donor top on my 49, left the rear window where it was, just layed it down. That by the way is a great chop!!!!!!!!!........OLDBEET
Got any side shots of your car? Trying to imagine it, but it really gives a long look to the roof, matches the body well!
Mine is on page one. Posted by my son K-Member. Brown primer doin big burnout. Tried to keep the Merc look, just lower............OLDBEET
Here's my 51. Uncut. Complete metal up resto 14 years ago. Mild cam, Offy heads and intake, 2 97's, Fenton headers and Smithy's, 3spd with OD, lowered 2 inches. ORIGINAL rear seat fabric. Runs and drives like a champ. does 70-80 down the freeway all day, get decent milage too.
