I need a pair of 15" x 5 1/2" wide x 5 on 5 1/2" bolt pattern steel wheels that will accept the 11" Mercury Hubcap and beauty rings.

I've tried Wheel Vintiques and searched... Does anyone know of a source for these OEM Mercury wheels? Or a shop in or near Texas that could take the centers out of a bent pair that i have and put them in new wheel bands?

    Thanks in advance!!!

  2. Easy enough to grind off the rivet heads on your bent pair and press them out since you already have a set. The centers are the critical piece. I found four wheels at the Vern Tardel going out of business sale. Two were bent rim Mercs and two were good 6" Lincolns (same center, wider rim). The original rims are nice if you are going with bias ply tires and reversing the rims, but otherwise the newer rims are just fine for use with the Merc centers.

I have a set of 4 original Merc wheels that you are looking for. I also have a set of Billet Specialties custom polished aluminum wheels with new Goodyear tires on them. These are all brand new with caps in 17 inch 5 on 5 1/2" bolt pattern. I paid over $3,000 for these but will sacrifice for $2,000. Call me if interested I can send pictures, Dave 402-650-5350.

  4. Southwest Wheel in Dallas, Tx should have the outer rim. Then go a good machine shop and have them welded. Be sure to have good measurements.

I know that Ford E 150 Van wheels from 1978 and up and possibly F 150 pick ups will fit.
They are 5x5.5 however they have 4 bumps for the center cap as opposed to the 3 bumps on original wheels. If the center cap fits I think they would be cheap and easy to obtain. The center hole is large enough to accept the Merc hub.

Im sorry. They are 5 1/2 wide. And the ones I have are stamped Kelsey and on the front of the wheel will also have the Ford script. Tire must be off to see Kelsey 15 x 5.5

You are very welcome. The Pick ups would be 2 wheel drives only I believe?
These will also fit 40 Fords to.

  10. The newer pickup/van wheels Slopok was talking about fit aftermarket '50 Merc style hub caps, but the caps are about an inch smaller diameter than the real Merc caps. They are good in a pinch. I am using some, waiting to get my real Mercury centers fitted to the right rims.

I didn't know about the center caps but they will take a Caddy or Olds or any other full 15 inch wheel cover.
