Technical 1949-51 Merc steering gearbox help

    The cover gasket for this box is not made anywhere. We have the ability to have it made but we do not have a sample to work from. I'd like to find one of the original gaskets (8M-3581) and/or the cover itself (8M-3580) from which to have the correct gasket made. If anyone has even a used cover they could lend, we'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advance!

  2. If no one comes up with one I have a couple merc parts cars in my back yard. Might be able to remove one intact

    If no one else offers up the items I may take you up on that. I really just need the two items. We’re trying to come up with the last piece needed for the gearbox rebuild kit. Thanks!
