Up for sale is an original 1949-53 Flathead Ford Mallory "YC" Distributor. This distributor is in excellent shape. It is a YC model which is mechanical advance only, so there isnt any vacuum advance to worry about or mess with. This was pulled out of a running car, and has less than 50 miles on it from a fresh rebuild/adjustment. It was pulled out to replace with an electronic distributor. All pieces are there, with ZERO damage. The 2 piece cap was NOS when installed, and has no cracks or chips. The terminals are near perfect. The rotor was NOS when installed as well. A usually RARE piece is the bakelite cover that goes over the points between the cap and the case. These pieces are usually missing or damaged. This one is beautiful. It has brand new ECHLIN (CS2301) point sets installed. The points cam is super smooth, and has no pits or scratches. The lower gear shows minimal wear, and was getting perfect mesh with the camshaft gear. It comes with a brand new ECHLIN condenser that was checked and is good. The spark plug wires are original solid core cloth wrapped type, and the above picture of the engine is how they were run. The Rajah terminal ends are NOT included. It was set on a SUN machine by a professional, and adjusted as such-- both points set at 27 degrees of dwell, with a combined adjustment of 33 degrees. At 5 degrees of initial advance, final advance is 23 degrees--PERFECT for a street flathead. An added bonus is the ORIGINAL instructions for this distributor. Very cool to have these. All you need to do is put some terminal ends on the plug wires and find an engine to install it into, and you are set! I have more than 375 in the distributor.
