Customs 1949 Chevy engine and trans swap

    Can anyone help highlightning to me the major problems I will find to fit a late 70's 6 cyl chevy engine and trans to the 1949 original chevy styline differencial ?

    There are many excellent recent threads on here with pictures showing how to do these cars. Use the search and you will find a lot of information.
     
  3. Sorry to dissapoint you but there are no major problems. The later six bangers are a liitle longer so you need to either run a electric fan mounted on the front of the radiator or move the radiator forward to allow for fan clearence. You will however have to convert to an open driveline. You can't adapt the later trans to the torque tube rearend. Ask if you have any more questions. Here is my install. Todd
