Classically hopped up 49 Chevy. Built 235, improved braking, 3.55 gearing. 3 on the tree manual transmission. Less than 70,000 original miles. This car came out of a dirt floor garage (not quite a barn find, but close) in 2002 looking much as it does now externally. It was parked in the late 70"s by the second owner who had bought it from the original lil' ol lady owner with very low miles on it. The second owner drove the car and kept it in running order but a young family and obligations resulted in the long term storage. I became the third owner. I towed the car home and got it back on the road. I rebuilt carb, pulled the tank to have it lined, tuned it up, replaced all the fluids etc. It needed quite a bit of mechanical refurbishment but looked just as it does now, on the surface. I ended up selling the sedan to a friend in 2003 and he owned the car for the bulk of the next fourteen years before I bought it back. I'll try and condense a very long narrative of what was done to this: The original 216 was failing and with the low pressure oiling system being sub standard for driving on todays roads a full pressure 1954 Chevy was sourced as a donor. The 235 was rebuilt with much work going it to the head for better breathing as it was ported and polished with stainless valves and hardened seats. Hydraulic lifters, full flow remote spin on filter (PH8A), high volume oil pump, 260 degree cam........etc. An Offy dual intake and Fenton cast iron header with dual exhaust (sounds awesome) to the rear bumper. The carb setup is a dual 2bbl setup that makes tuning easy and provides a unique four barrel secondary setup. The entire suspension has been rebuilt and upgraded to self actuating brakes, sway bars, gas shocks, steering box rebuild etc. The third member was rebuilt with the gear upgrade to make freeway cruising possible, (3.55). Sand blasting of the rebuilt suspension and third member, paint, stainless fasteners under the hood, firewall cleaned and painted....... the list goes on. A twelve volt system with single wire alternator and upgraded wiring was installed along with turn signals. The systems all work perfect including the wipers, heat and defrost. This is survivor car that is in decent original condition externally with all new and rebuilt parts underneath.
I'm noticing a lot of bumped ads going back months on some pretty nice cars. I'll bump this a couple times just to make sure ya'all see it then I'm done. THANKS!!!
