Customs 1949 dodge Wayfair

Does anyone know of any Dodge or any other factory disc brakes that will fit on a 1949 Dodge wayfarer without buying a conversion kit

 

IF you could find rotors that use the same inside ID wheel bearings of your existing drums.
Correct bolt pattern etc.

you would still need to fabricate brackets to install the caliper a of your choice.

check out scarebird or any other if the brake kit providers.

usually they will sell you just the brakets and any custom bits and you can source the rotors ,master cylinder caliper a and related parts yourself to keep costs down


Sorry going to a s**** yard and pulling parts off something to “bolt on” to your car simply won’t happen.

Check out Rusty Hope, they sell a conversion kit with the fabricated parts needed, and a list of rotors, bearings, calipers etc that you purchase separate from the kit.
Off the top of my head it is a possibly a dodge diplomat rotor, Ford F100 wheel bearings ... Been a couple years since I looked at the list. I did buy the kit but not sure if going to use it yet.
The list of parts includes the napa part numbers, and very complete. Every little part you need to complete the job, brake hose, dust cap, seals etc.


These brackets are the heart of the kit, along with bolts, fasteners, instructions and the parts list. The price is pretty reasonable in my opinion.

Here is a photo of the kit that I was delivered. I am pleased.
The brackets are quality, precision drilled, tapped, then you have all the correct fasteners to mount them.
I know many here could just build there own brackets, If you were charging for your time, in a business, you would not do it for less then $200.

What you are really paying for is the knowledge. The brackets and fasteners pays for the kit, Then the parts list and a 6 page pdf of instructions and options .... oldaddy is trying to make a living and p***ing on good deals to us sick nitro addicted people.
