Technical 1949 Ford/ Mercury carburetor

    The carb pictured is a stock Merc carb. Can't tell you anything specific about it but I'm sure others can and will. 2G carbs will bolt onto the Merc manifold. Turn the carb around so the linkage lines up. IIRC the manifold needs to be opened up to match the bore on the carb. Seems pricey to me but then what do I now. But FWIW I did sell a stock Merc manifold to a guy here on the Hamb or maybe over on the Barn for 50 bucks not that long ago.

    Holley type 885-FFC.

    Both Lincoln and Mercury used this type in the years 1949, 1950, and 1951. There were 11 different versions.

    There was also a truck version type 885-FFG (the "G" meant governor) used by a number of truck manufacturers.
