Especially hard to find on the east coast, this is a SOLID car. The rusted areas have been worked on, and done relatively well as pictures show. Now, I have owned over 40 of these, and have replaced a ton of rusted metal on these cars in the last 20 years. A lot of times when people repair them, it's a half ***ed job. Not here. The inner and outer rockers were replaced, and done well. Floors are rust free (aside from a small hole), and trunk floor was repaired with a hand beaded panel. All body panels are in excellent condition, not perfect, but excellent. Doors open and close smoothly. The dashboard will need a typical overhaul, but it's complete, especially with what you would need for a kustom. The sheetmetal lines up especially well. There is a Mercury flathead/3 speed OD, but the engine only turns about halfway, and I have gone no further to investigate. The prior owner removed a head, and snapped some head bolts off in the block, so I did not go any further. The steering is sloppy, so I would recommend going with a power steering unit similar to what is sold here on eBay. The ***le is for a 1950, but the car is clearly a 1949. I do not know if the VIN matches, I have not looked and am not near the car at the moment. I have been traveling for work for 6 months and will be for the foreseeable future, and also have a 1970 C10 project that is full swing, so this car is sitting, which makes me sad. I don't want to be that guy who will "get to it someday". The car is located in Howell, NJ and can be picked up pretty much any time. If phone calls work better, you can call or text 908 884 7120.
