my brother Emailed me this a few weeks ago. Very cool

I pointed out to him that this was filmed pre-bridge. The Mighty Mac wasn't built until 1957

Cool, Like most Michiganders I have been to all those places, several times. This film was made before the Mackinaw bridge was built between the Upper and Lower Peninsulas. It's funny that they only showed the lower Tahquamenom falls, the upper falls is the largest waterfall after Niagra east of the Mississippi. Good stuff, and to keep it on topic, there's still some old tin left in the Upper Peninsula if ya know where to look!

Dang, that's harsh....Get out of Garden City and come on over to the west side of the state for a while. Still beautiful! :)

Wonder how cars on this forum made the trip through the soo locks.

I loved the reference to the thousands of workers needed and brought in to harvest the cherry crop each year. Illustrated by lovely American girls in dresses picking baskets of cherries. Slightly different from the reality of migrant worker life.

    HA!

That was a great video. I've been all those places, but me thinks I'm due for a road trip.....I'd go to Sleeping Bear Nat. Park more often if the "dune mobiles" were still giving rides! Those looked way cooler than the new fandangled ones.:D Loved the shot of the Locks with all the new cars, with window stickers, making the pilgramige to Duluth. Thanks for sharing!

You could always go to Mack Woods in Silver Lake for a ride on the dunes. The dunes aren't as much fun as they were 30-50 years ago. Too crowded now.

Yeah, I've been there, a few years ago. I just really wanted to cruz the dunes in one from the movie, looks so much funner, and stylish:D
