Car is a straight 8 with the hydro matic, car drives beautifully, starts up with no throttle and just purs. It’s been cleared over the patina, and rattle canned the number on it for dirt track racing. My question is how do I go about removing the number 7 without hurting the clear coat?

I won’t be doing much to “build” this car. Pretty original, will be putting the windows back in, upgrading small stuff but will be just a family cruiser.

Never done it, but Easy Off oven cleaner is supposed to take off lettering without messing up the paint below it.
    Nice car! Good luck.

And not the new "enviro-friendly" crap, get the old stuff that actually worked.
