Not to be a negative type person, but to me, and I don't know ****, and have very little in the way of a finish project but it looks like the doors could be shorten a little.

UNFORTUNATELY, the owner that I sold the vehicle back to, has S****PED this vehicle ! ! !
YES, S****ED. I posted it for the current owner and original builder here on the HAMB back in the spring (I think) and no one wanted to buy the car. He sold off the very nicely running Flathead and Transmission and S****ED the body. He had hit 80 years old and age had caught up with him and since NO ONE wanted his creation/masterpiece; he cut the body up and sent it to a s**** yard.
    WHAT A SHAME.

Soooooo, sorry to hear that. I thought it was an interesting concept, although I was not able to step up and finance it's completion.

So he couldn't continue the build but had the energy to cut it up? I think a little bitter that no one wanted it. IMO.

Nothing surprises me anymore. He could have sold the drivetrain and still have gotten more than steel price from someone (I would hope). Sometimes pride gets in the way. It was a cool concept. And it would have been neat, even if it ended up with a lot of unfriendly to HAMB era build cues. I hope he sleeps well being selfish or just plain stupid....

Only way *any* one here gets to ***** about this car being cut & destroyed & then put the badmouth on the old guy, is if you can prove you had the cash needed to buy it from the old guy at his price & he just wouldn't sell it. It's still his no matter what. & it sounds like a whole lotta folks had the opportunity to buy it, & quickly p***ed. I noticed that even the builder didn't step-up to acquire it. No slam there, just life. The owner doesn't/didn't owe anyone anywhere the right to be forced to keep building/spending probably cubic coin so they could see the project finished. Nor to sell at less, usually way less, than he has in it. It's called cutting your loss(es) & not throwing good money after bad. The older I get, the more I understand this concept. & you don't know the guys' cir***stances that occurred w/that result. Sure, it'd've been nice to see it completed, but I wasn't going to fund it & neither did anyone else - so it met its' fate. Calling him stupid, selfish, & prideful 'cause you didn't get the car - wtf?

  8. For a very long time I've been a supporter of the idea that the person that owns the car has the right (as right or as wrong as I might think it is) to do whatever they want to with the car. That would extend to everything from "out of this world" creativity to total destruction, for whatever reason, it's their choice to make. The particular car in question was for sale and no one bought it. The destruction of a vehicle no one wants, how is that an issue large enough to make anyone want to call the owner stupid or selfish when he made the decision to dispose of it?

Yup, when no one was interested in buying it he should have given it to someone for free. Really??

I guess I am the ***hole here. But I maintain that if he loved his vision, he would have been willing to offer it up at s**** price.

I had written three long paragraphs about my thoughts, but deleted them, because I would share too much.

I agree about property rights. I am huge on that, and do not argue it wasn't his right to wreck that project. As someone with acreage who lives rural, I know a thing or three about an en***led set of at***udes. Any hunting season will teach you that.

To s**** some thing rather than sell it for what the tonnage brings is a giant middle finger to the world. I fully get that attraction, as I can be shallow at times. But it also closes the door on what a cool thing that 80 year old's plan could have been.

I hope I will care more about the future of my tin than my foolish pride if I achieve that age. We only get to have it for a while, if we look after it correctly. If you disagree, well, kiss my ***...
