Might be a dumb question... are Buick Super parts interchangeable? Have a '53 Super Riviera looking to swap grills/bumpers with a '50 Super 4 door. Thoughts? Experience? Thanks
In short, no. 50 super parts won't be a direct fit on a 53. While there are numerous parts that are shared on the 50-70 series platform (supers, riviera, roadmaster, skylark) from 1950-1953, your parts in question were not them. can you make it work? Absolutely . Just not a direct changeover.
Just to clarify, "super" sheetmetal, grille etc WILL change to all other model buicks of the SAME year, excluding the smaller platform 40 series "specials".
I have a 50 grill in my parts room (same as Hnstray has on his avatar) I can get you measurements if you need. or send over yours. I guess I could hold the bumper up to my 52 Special and see if i notice any differences not that it helps for your 53 Riv.
There is a 52 Super coupe for sale in the classifieds with a 50 Front. Looks great, ask the seller. I know 51-52-53 share a lot of parts as long as they are the same series (no Special sheetmetal on a Super etc)
