    You can’t fool me, that’s a ‘55 Studebaker! :D

Some very cool vehicles on this thread. I love that slammed, off-white ‘53 or ‘54.

Does anybody know how hard it is to put a 440 in a ‘53 or ‘54 Dodge? I’ve heard the early ones are tough, because the engine bay was designed for the inline six, but I’m thinking that once the Red Ram came along, it would be easier.

My 50 Coronet. Currently working on getting the title situation sorted out. I bought it for the sum of 500 bucks. Motor runs great although there seems to be some odd noises coming from the transmission.

You got me on that one for sure, still a nice wagon, at least it is close to the same year of the thread.

Spray can job in the driveway to cover up the hurried 'bodywork' trying to get it ready for a buddies wedding. Too much fun.

Has anyone frenched the lights on one of these using 52-54 merc rings? I'd like to try it and would love to see pics of them used on one of these cars, specifically a 53 dodge if anyone's done it.

    Thanks,
    Scott

This ha salready been posted on the thread i started but this is my boyfriend's 1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe. yes, she's a four door but we both think she's still bad ass. She is a Kansas City, Missouri car and has had 2 owners since she was purchased new. We have all the original paperwork, sales brocures, road maps, valet tickets, "weed-chains", etc and whatever else was found in this car. She had been sitting in storage for years before my boyfriend bought her this past summer. She has 22,000 original miles and she is entirely original right down to the interior in her and is a pure joy to sit in!

We have put 2,000 miles on this car since late May 2010. She's been to many classic main street cruises and car shows and she has drawn a crowd wherever she's been parked. We've even had people follow us down the road waiting for us to pull in somewhere so they could take a look at her. She has brought out a lot of fantastic stories from the old timers and that has made my boyfriend plenty proud to own her; even if she isn't the most desireable car.

    This is "Betty'

anyone have any recommendations on how to carefully remove mint condition trim on a 50 plymouth? the hood is coated in undercoating and its making it very hard to get the trim off, especially the P L Y M O U T H on the front of the hood. any suggestions are greatly appreciated :) thanks

A concept drawing of a roadster I'm building out of a 51 Plymouth 2 door sedan (not biz coupe). Rendered by Dennis Martin a.k.a Straight8's&Aces here on the HAMB

Thanks kool 32 for the headlight pics. sent you a pm. Is that inner stainless ring get held in by the headlight bucket or is there screws through the front side of it into something on the inside?

I'm a brand-new member & just happened to run across this thread. Have a 69 GTX 440 4spd that I fully restored several years ago. My other car is a 53 Dodge Coronet convertible I bought last year from the family of the original owners. Spent last winter going through everything (it had been stored 45 years) to get it running. Has the 241 Red Ram with a Gyro-Torque transmission. It was parked in 1964 with a tranny problem & still has it, so I'm looking for parts (or a good core). Everything is numbers-matching & original (even has factory crayon markings on firewall, etc.) and I plan to keep it that way. It's a very early production car (Oct 1, 1952) and the 49th convertible built, so it just might be the oldest surviving Dodge hemi convertible in existence.

Here are several photos as it was being brought home.

How come you can't use the garage in the background? You know, contriary to popular belief, garage's are for working on not parking cars. :)

  27. I guess this is the first time I went thru all 328 posts. I thought I had my wagon on here a couple years ago LOL.

I took a 52 Plymouth Wagon, a 52 Belevedere Hardtop, and a 50 plymouth Wagon. Plus I still have a 49 wagon that still complete.

what I was working towards was a two door hardtop wagon. this got put on the back burner many years ago and is about to spend another winter outside. I'm just a finger snap from putting it all on Craigs List. it's sad to see it rust but I have 4 cars in a 4 bay shop and the plymouths aren't inside again.
I have 2 stock six's with overdrive transmissions and a 270 dodge Hemi with a stick bellhousing that my plan was the plymouth overdrive behind the Hemi. I have over $3000 in new Chrome sittng in the spare bedroom. if it wasn't for time, money and space I'd have this sucker done.

the whole plymouth thing started in 1956 when I first saw George Cerny's Wagon. about 15 years ago I started collecting parts to clone it. when I got the Belevedere Hardtop Parts car I knew I had to take this wagon past My Cerny dream clone and build my own dream. everything came together very nice. then I found a quick project to get on the road, the another and another. you see the pattern.
Sinnister did a line drawing and a couple others did photoshops and it still getting surface rust.

    OMG I NEVER NOTICED THAT!!!!:)
Actually, the car is parked outside a friend's house in NJ, and HIS car is in the garage and there's no room for ours!:(
We're not gonna be able to start on it until after New Year now anyway!

  29. Is there a car in that picture...lol.

Here are a few pics of my old '53 Meadowbrook. I sold it to a guy up in Oregon. Not sure if he's on the HAMB or not.

Shortly after I first got it, 100% stock, and I lowered it about 3".

A year or two later on steelies and Remington white walls.

And the engine bay after a few mods...

I miss this car more than any other I've sold over the years.
