Yo Chuck (say it like Flava Flav). What's the name of that color? That's one of those colors makes you want to lick the car and see what it tastes like.

 

What size tire are you running?? I like the look of the wide white and would like to run them on my '50 wayfarer

A Update on my Hemi Powered 11953 Plymouth Coupe. My grandson Paul and I have been working on it for the past six years and we hope to complete it this year sometime. Painted with Spies Hecker "Blue Black", the blackest black you can buy. Base Coat Clear Coat FP 2002 paint number. We have aluminum panels for the trunk once it is cleaned up and prepped. With the body now on the frame we can measure and order the wheels and tires. Frame is a Gasser Frame with front straight axle and 4-link back half.

This is my 50' Suburban. It has a 13' 5.7 hemi and A580 trans with a 65 8 3/4 rear. I am looking for a 50' grille. Mine is pretty good but I would like one near perfect.

Looking very good Don. These old cars require allot of fabricating to replace the rot and get them straight. You have done much and it all looks very good. I have most of my trim pieces that are NOS. For body trim it looks like the only things I need to have re chromed are the bumpers and windshield wiper towers. You have done more fabrication than Paul and I have done. Believe me Paul and I really appreciate what you have accomplished. Like the using of a late model Hemi.

My work in progress. Soon to be rolling! 51 dodge wayfarer coupe. Did a 318/727 swap. It was a tight fit. A-body exhaust manifold and had to notch the front crossmember for the crank pulley. Offset motor 1.25".

I Stepped the lower control arms, like they do on the 50s chevys, I also cut one coil In the front but it may be to low, we'll see soon. I made a 2.75" block for the rear.

Re did the brakes, swapped in a newer 8inch rear end with 3.00 gears, hooked up the 3 on the tree shifter to my automatic.

This car is really growing on me. Hope to have it safe to drive soon, then it will be a work in progress while I enjoy driving it. Doing some rust repairs right now In the floors and rockers.

A friend has this 2 door wagon set up with 98 Dakota Hemi automatic , needs a lot of work...he's asking 8500.00. Do you think that's a fair price...I told him he's way out of the ball park???

Here's a pic of my 51 Plymouth. Obviously still in progress. I am having trouble with the links to the windshield wipers--or wiper transmission as some folks say. I have the original electric motor. Does anyone have a diagram or photo of how the passenger side wiper links up?

This is my 1950 Plymouth Suburban I bought it in South Carolina about two years ago. It had 31,177 miles on it when I picked it up. I'm not planing on doing any thing to it except drive it....

Bizarre, that is the second 1950 Plymouth Suburban like that I've encountered from South Carolina.

This is a '53 (I think) Canadian Dodge Wagon that used Plymouth bodies (called Plodges) that has a Savoy badges on the front fenders from the factory. Car is for sale no papers

 

Wasn't the OP building a clone of the Ed Sloan coupe? Any updates, OP?

my '51 Plymouth Business Coupe. I've had it 3 years now. she has the original Flat 6 w/offenhauser intake with two 1 barrel carbs & it's been converted to 12v, I bought it like that. has nice paint & body, new floors. even tho she's a good driver, I'm wanting to upgrade to a different rear end, T-5 trans....I'm not too interested in chirping the tires, doing burnouts, or blowing someone's doors off. I want a driver that'll keep up. she mellows out around 45-50 mph. anything past 50mph, & she sound like she's being overworked........

I had different sites "favorited" for upgrades, but an unwanted Windows 10 "upgrade" took care of those...grrrrr......I'm mostly a "parts changer", & can't do the work I want done. I have a builder lined out, but his suggestions are mostly "mustang II high dollar everything".....looking for info on a good build, & wanting my $$$'s to go as far as possible. Any & all help will be appreciated.

 

@yerbz51flatty that's how I'd be doing it too. Probably with an AX-15 from a Dakota and a 230-cu.in. engine. I collect my ideas on Pinterest. Here is an adapter, built by a HAMBster, I believe.

For the rear axle, I think you probably need a '60s-'70s V-8 A-body unit (so you get the larger lug pattern with the narrow width) after they took the parking brake off the trans, but I'm not a MoPar expert, so I don't know exactly when that happened.

Here's some pics of my 50 Dodge Coronet coupe. The body is really solid, no holes in the floors or trunk, has been repowered with a 318 and a torque flight. Just picked it up this past fall and hope to have it in primer by spring.
