I've got a door that recently started opening on it's own. I don't know jack about these kinds of things, Heck!, I can barely keep an engine running. Anybody have prior experience with this issue on this truck?

    Thanks in advance!

Try posting this in the A/D group- more likely to have someone who knows these trucks see it

The latch looks worn. I've seen buys build up weld on the it then hand for it back to where is should be. There are repair kits that appear to just clip over the bad area, never used them don't know if they work or not. Another option is to switch to bear claw latches.

Dont waste your $ on a repair kit.Take the latch ***embly loose from the door with the 3 screws and fix it yourself for free. When you get it out look at the part that looks like a Roosters comb. There is a piece that rides on it thats most likely worn down and wont hold the door shut.Take a stick welder and build it back up with a few spot welds. After its a bit higher than it should be take a grinder and knock the weld down a bit till its level. It will work like brand new afterwards.I have done both of the doors on my 50 3100 this way and it works like its 1950 all over again :)...
