Looks like you need to add more things to your need list.

Ok guys. Here's the next update. I pulled all of the lifters to make sure none were sticking & guess what. I can't get 3 of the lifters out. I've was able to tap them with a hammer & a metal rid to loosen a bit, but still really stuck. From the top looking down I can see daylight through the holes that are missing the lifters since I removed the oil pan. I was wondering if I could somehow get a metal rod on them from the bottom side & tap them out. Any suggestions. I really don't want to pull the cam.

you really do not want to hammer on a lifters face as its heat treated and was polished by the camshaft, any nicks in the face will act like a cutting tool and destroy your cam ( the lifters rotate besides go up and down ) . but you can try a soft br*** punch to see if they will loosen up by tapping it, not hitting it hard . I often soak the tops with diesel fuel or acetone to try to break any varnish that might have a grip on the lifter , also see where the cam is in location to the lifter ( bdc or tdc , if your lucky and the lifter is in the TDC position ( open) for that cylinder you might be able to soak it then tap it down a little to try to loosen it up, and push it back up and repeat to see if it will move farther up and out if the lifter is in the bdc I wouldn't try to move it as you might damage the cam or lifter face .

What if I end up damaging the lifter getting it out & just replace it with a new one. Is that going to be a problem. I've actually got 2 of the 3 lifters out fairly easy from the bottom. The last one is a *****. It's the very front lifter & I can't access it very well. Any suggestions on getting that one out. It moves up when the motor is rotated & the can lobe pushes it up & then gets stuck in the up position. I can't get it to clear the top of the hole & I can't get anything under to push it up.

Well I finally got it out. After about 5 hours of trying to figure out how to get a square peg into a round hole I finally ended up getting a piece of 1/4 square bar from Home Depot. I cut it to a length that would allow me to get it on the bottom of the lifter, yet have access to tap the other end with a hammer. I had to bend the tip a little bit so it would wrap over the top of the cam lobe & still touch the base of the lifter. After a several good taps it felt like it moved. I crawled out from under the car & finally it was far enough out to were I could get a grip on it and wiggle it out. That thing was really gummed up. The piston inside of the lifter wouldn't move either. That took some persuasion as well, but it's finally in pieces. I think it looks good enough to reuse, but I'm thinking I might just replace it. What do you guys think??? Also. Thanks again for everyone's help & advice. I really do appreciate it.
