1950 buick vin##

    where is the vin # on one of these things. it s the 2 door fastback if that makes a difference. the car has a volare clip on it so if it s up front it might be long gone. anywhere else i could look???

  2. Possibly gone. Buick book says it's "under the hood, stamped on a plate attached to the top right-hand frame side rail ahead of the front body bracket" then goes on to say it's also "under the hood on a plate attached to the front of the dash on the right side" ... in other words, on the cowl, apparently. "Also stamped on the left-hand front crossmember extension of the frame. Also stamped on the cylinder block at the front edge of the push rod cover on the left side of the engine."

    Big help eh? The only one you have a shot on most likely is the cowl. Serial is all numbers, no letters, 8 characters, for the most part the starting digit IDs the plant it was built at.

    it is on the driver side, if your sitting in the car open the driver door, around eye level its on the post! and the CHP could not find mine on the frame LOL
