Ok...first off, I'm sorry for not introducing myself, that is done now.

I realize that I am not going to trade this car for a perfect mid 30's coupe. I don't really care what condition it's in; I would take just a body for all it matters.

I am not out to try to screw somebody over or ask an absurd amount of money for it. The problem is there are not a lot of these out there for me to do adequate research. The whole reason I posted on here was to try to get some help with figuring out what it's worth. I understand it's "worth" what someone is going to pay for it but there is not one of you who would want to sell it to someone and find out you majorly shortchanged yourself, regardless of how much you had into the car.

I promise everyone, this car will not go to the crushers. I would give it away to someone or take it to the local antique junkyard before I would ever let that happen.

As for those of you who posted with some advice and information, thank you. I am going to go to the building it is in this weekend and get better pictures, figure out what parts are exactly there and give Slag a price because I too would like to see something cool done with it.

Southdiver....there is a new carb in the box with the car.

    Rabid....thanks for the laugh

I asked her about it. They have legally acquired all of the assets in the building, plus it's been there, abandoned for a number of years.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how I can search for the title to see if I could get a new one? I am located in Pennsylvania.

imagine it would get done with a mild shave and lowered with some other tricks like my 50 coupe i built a few years ago

  4. Start it , put it back together as cheap as possible, make the brakes work, scuff it, shoot a coat of cheap black on it and drive the piss out of it or sell it to someone who will do the same. It is a cool car and some of the most fun you will experience with a car comes with that equation. Just think even if you sink $2000 grand in it is somthing that not everybody has or sees driving around every day. CHEAP CAR FUN does not knock on everyone door!!

Wow! That is beautiful. Let me know when you want to come up and look at the car. I emailed you my phone number.

As far as putting it together for myself...I am going to try to get it running and see whatever else I could do with it. I am not getting that deep into it though. I really don't have the time. Not only that, with how long it is, I don't know if I'll be able to get it into my shop!

Ok...I think I might be going blind from trying to do research on this car! There is not a lot of info about these online at all.

Wow, that's a lot of car. Wonder what would make a good frame swap for that thing? Maybe late model 2WD Suburban?
If you frame swapped it, you could sell the engine and hydro to a hotrodder, then sell the special series 75/commercial chassis stuff to restorers. And still have a unique bigass limo to drive clients or rent out to production companies. Lots of work though...

That's not a bad idea IMO. I got engaged over the holidays and found out there is a local guy with a '59 Caddy Factory limo for hire. Who needs that stretched Hummer H2 crap when you could have something really cool like that ! If I were keep it for personal use I would probably go with a mostly stock resto, but make it into a killer bomb !

If it were mine I would cut the floor pans out completely and put the body on a later model chassis and floor pan. I have a buddy that did that with his 61 Caddy and an uncle that has done lots of cars that way and it works out real good.

Everyone should be happy to know that I decided that I don't want to see the car parted out. I emailed Slag and told him that he can make me an offer on it. From what I can tell, there were an extremely limited number of these cars made and I much rather see someone put this thing back on the road rather than part it out.

If anyone else is interested, let me know. Slag has first crack at it as he was the first person to express real interest in actually restoring it. If it turns out that he doesn't want it, I will post it in the classifieds section.

Thanks for all the feedback. I am looking forward to posting much more on here as I embark on other projects in the future. This is a great site!

I agree....sell it to someone who REALLY wants it. If you keep it, restore it to original and rent it out.

The car is now up for sale. I offered it to Slag but he hasn't responded recently and I need to get rid of it. Check over in the classifieds section to anyone who is interested.

I know...I might have to part it out. I'm sure there are a few people that would want that engine for their projects. I just wanted to see someone do something cool with it, even if it meant that I wouldn't make much money on the thing. Hopefully someone will buy the whole thing. I am going to post it up in the classifieds section once I clean it up and get some good pictures of it.
