1950 Chev Rochester Carb problems

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Cheneyboro Kid, Nov 25, 2012.

  1. My 1950 3100 (235 6 cyl) runs great and idles great as long as I can get it started. If it sits for at least 15 min, it will not start back up. Seems like it is flooding while sitting.....needle sticking etc.. I had a kit and float put in the Rochester but it is still acting the same way. I did pour a little gas in the carb and it started up but that doesnt always work. It seems to be flooding but can explain why it started when poured gas in the carb. What are all the things it might be?

If it starts when you pour gas in the carb then the problem is probably the gas is draining out of the fuel bowl when sitting.
