I have pickup a 1950 Chevy panel truck and the stock tank has been removed and someone install a small 8-10 gas tank in the rear , also the gas filler door has been moved to the rear of the panel, I need to replace the gas tank, so what is the best 20 to 30 gal fuel tank to use when moving your tank under the bed of a with stock rear frame. I have been told a late 70's Chevy Jimmy or late 70's Mustang would fit. just not sure. Thank you in advance.
What is the width of the frame where you want to mount the tank? I am not sure what frame they used on your panel but my 3/4 ton pickup is narrow in the rear, neither of those tanks would fit.
Early 70's mustang is 33 inches wide and should fit your frame, but then you have to use an ohms manipulator thing from Tanks Inc to make your GM gauge read right.
if your panel is a 1/2 ton, a 68-72 Nova tank (or clone) or 67_69 Camaro/F-bird tank should work, filler comes out at center rear, mite need to cut an access hole for that and hide with a flip-down license plate.
Yes it's a 1/2 ton, I ***ume that all 1/2 tons truck, panel etc. are build on the same frame, I will check to see if the frame narrows in the back, thanks
