I am looking for the dimension shown, from the top of the head bolt to the green tape shown on a 1950 dodge. I put a different trans in but want to maintain the position of original engine. Seems about 9-5/8. Thanks

...I'd be more concerned with the angle of the driveshaft and u-joint angles.

Your 9-5/8" sounds good to me.

The condition of the rubber in the motor and the body mounts (and the metal around the body mounts on the floor boards and frame) will also have an effect on that height number.

No one is going to measure your motor height against the firewall, and most would not have any idea if it was correct or not if they did measure it.

The angles of the driveshaft and u-joints is far more important.

I dont need opinions, the only thing I need is that measurement, not hard.

I’d give you the measurement off my car but not sure my green tape is in the same place as yours.
    So it’s a little hard....

Sounds like to me that you should have taken that measurement before pulling the original transmission if you think that is that critical.

Everyone here is trying to tell you that measurement isn't what you should be worried about but apparently you aren't paying attention.

Man……why two threads with the same question? I found the other one first, replied with a (I think) good suggestion and while scrolling other threads found this one!

Very confusing. But if you have not yet read my post to the other thread, you might want to check it out.

    Regards,
    Ray
