When I was a kid a old milk or delivery truck was at my friends house up the road. Back then it was used for storage. I went and looked at it the other day and comfirmed what it is. It is indeed a F-1 longnose step delivery van. It has a flat six the transmission may be missing the rear axle is missing. The hood left open is in relic condition. There is some rust out here and there in the body. The only picture of one I have seen is a add from Boyertown in 1949. All the examples I have seen online are F-2s and bigger. All I have to do is ask for it and he would give it me. The rust damage is in the flat panels and seem like they would be a simple fix. Where it counts, the roof, structure, windows and curved areas are fine. I have some extra F-1 front end parts also. It would make a neat camper or business type truck. Should I persue this? It's kinda got in my blood if you know what I mean. I need another project like a hole in the head. Since it's a F-1 I figure it's pretty rare, maybe not desireable but rare. It is a 1949-1950 F-1 Boyertown built Step and Serve Delivery. It is built on a F-1 cowl and chassis.
If it were me I go for it, just plane hard to come by at any price, found mine 10 years ago and never regret it. Tons of F1 trucks around but not so much in the panel style. Rear doors are really really hard to come by but the rest of the stuff not to bad. Good luck in your adventure if you decide to pursue it.
Get it! A panel truck is about the most useful old vehicle you could buy. I'm constantly amazed at how much I can stuff in mine!
