1950 ford custom help

    well here is my problem ..i need info and cant find a damn thing on the net...im looking for a place that has conversion kits and any place that has body parts etc..due to the price of building a flat head right im just gonna toss in a smallblock to run for fun and spend the next 5 years building the flatty up right any sites and help would be helpfull...and any info on tips to squeez out any extra hp from the flathead for nothing more then my time would be nice to

    Yup, try Jamco for the 'conversion'. Macs, Dennis Carpenter, and Shoeboxford.com all have parts for your Shoebox. I've bought several items from Dennis Carpenter, I've always gotten good service.

    Those should be pretty common and if you do it right you shouldn't have to alter any or much of the Ford pieces. You can run the Ford three speed although it might be a bit weak for a sbc if you get on it.

    im going for a full rebuild on the 50 engine and trans so im gonna pop in a turbo 350 ...and one more thing i guess it has a brokin valve seat is that something i could change myself or take it to the speed shop?

    I spent a lot of time researching flatty build/rebuilding before doing mine. I found the best results (in my humble opinion) was from Mark Kirby from Motor City Flathead out of Detroit. Mine has been on the road (read-hiway) cruising for 5 trouble-free years, knock on wood.....
