    Hi Everyone,

So this is my first time posting on this site. Been tuning in for sometime, place is a great read!

I have a 1950 Ford F1 with a 8BA FlatHead and a GM HEI Dizzy. Over the last month the truck has been turning off with out warning! Me and a buddy looked the truck over (truck is getting fuel, fuel pump is working fine with good ground, has spark). I went ahead and changed out the module found with in the Dizzy thinking maybe is starting to fail and changed the fuel filter in case it was clogging.

Well took out the truck this morning for a ride and after 30min it turned off again. What is up!! I am thinking of changing out the coil since I am thinking it may be failing. They are only about 50.00 so will not hurt to much but I do not want to just keep throwing parts at it with out being sure it is the problem. Can the coil be tested??

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks

Pickup coil? The wires flex every time the advance plate moves and the wiring breaks internally. That's what happened to my Olds anyway. I've also had the same thing happen with a bad ignition switch...

There is an ohms check for the coil.

When I first got my 52 f1 it would quite on and off.
If your tank is behind seat what i did was take it out and clean any dirt in tank.
If i drains out bottom be carefull of shutoff i broke mine, and good clean fuel line and any filters you may have.
