What is the oil capacity???? My 1949 - 1951 Ford P***enger Car Shop Manual reads 4 quarts. Is that with or w/o the remote oil filter canister? They don't specify.

I changed my oil today and put three and a half quarts in the motor and 1/2 quart in the remote canister. The dipstick is reading full (with 3 1/2 quarts in the oil pan) but I question the accuracy of the dipstick.

How much have you guys been putting in?
