Bought this ragtop after 22 years sitting in a garage. The brakes work good but the pedal sits 3" further back than the clutch paedal. I looked for a pedal aduster underneath. Nothing there to adust. Am I missing something or is something missing? Thanks, Karl

  2. Photos would help us help you.
Can you detach the pushrod and place the brake pedal at the same level as the clutch pedal by hand?
Usually, it's just a matter of adjusting the length of the pushrod and/or moving where the attachment is on the swing arm of the pedal.
But if the brake pedal feels natural and normal and isn't getting buried in the floor carpet, maybe it's the clutch pedal that should adapt to the brake pedal. Both need a full range of motion in the "Goldielocks Zone"...... not too high, not too low.

If I remember right, the clutch pedal is probably supposed to come up higher. It seems like there is an over center spring under the dash that is supposed to pull the pedal up. You might check the clutch adjustment.

Main reason I looked at this thread, cuz I wanted to see a 1950 convertible.
    Pictures please.

I agree that the clutch pedal probably has to come up. I believe the brake pedal has a positive stop that goes against the bottom of the floor pan that would keep it from ever coming up higher than designed.

  5. Without photos we're just guessing. Heck, it could be a deliberate modification for a driver with one short leg. No doubt you can make things right given enough good info.
