Lead East: Pic By Slim Pickens LeadEast©2011RToonkel_385 by RToonkel, on Flickr I was fully planning to just show up, pay entry and find the car. But Bill calls me saturday mid-morning to find out what time we are going to arrive and how many passes we need etc. I figured 'Okay'. I told about what time. We arrived right about when I thought, parked pretty far away from the action. I call Bill and he's in the car on his way. My wife and sons hop into the back seat, me in front, with Bill at the wheel (I can't drive because it's rolling under his dealer plates). We cruise in. Plenty of thumbs-ups, "nice car"s, and smiles (none surpassing mine though). It sounds good. It runs good. We loop around a little, maybe 20 minutes or so in what I would call "heavy traffic" 0-10mph. It gets warm in the cabin, motor temp creeps up a bit, but never over-heats. I say that's pretty good for the ol' flathead. A fine time was had by all.
A friend of mine said he saw a green Merc on a flatbed around the Rt 3 area a few months ago, I guess this was it! Looks great man. Best of luck with it. Chop it.
plates came yesterday (but it was raining) inaugural drive today (9/30) forgot how much work it is driving her... But I had fun tho!
