I highly recommend you hang your doors in the openings to check the gaps before you weld any more parts in that body. I personally think you have about one tenth of the bracing needed to keep it rigid with the whole bottom half removed. Maybe you will get lucky.

Also be aware that every weld you make will actually shrink as it cools, so putting a dozen more welds in place as you replace those rockers and floor will be a dozen more shrink points. As we all become used to seeing even door gaps of 3/16", how many shrinks does it take to mess that measurement up?

Oh yes. I didn’t take a picture but both sides had doors on them, and I did one side at a time. Passenger side door was slightly off and I adjusted it with a strap, then welded. I was paranoid about the whole thing shifting so I didn’t rotate the body and would crawl underneath to weld.

As far as bracing and shrinking, thats a really good point I guess we’ll see in the end. Boy that would suck.

I could see how channeling the car would have match my title. At least the door fits great with slight adjustment. Bottom bracket needs to be welded.
I don’t like how front bottom corner which I did years ago doesn’t have proper line. Will have to cut it out and redo.
Quarter panel needs step radius added and welded. Still not sure how I’ll go about that. Pipe or bead roller or make a buck.

Hey sorry for delayed response. I made a bracket to hold the booster and welded it to a frame. The brake pedal is mounted to the stock location. Wilwood master with remote access.

The firewall unit is a universal cut to fit but I might use it on the Cadillac.

I pulled the Caddy out to get some work done. Once the bottom is done I’ll jump back on the Merc. Oh and gotta go to work once in a while so sorry for delayed posts.
