Don't let a bunch of loudmouths bug you! Post for the guys who really want to follow your progress(ME!). Don't respond to the ****heads!!!
as usual,,nice proportions,,,, i KNEW you'd end up chopping that car,, im too tired to search my old posts,,but i remember posting that i predicted you'd be chopping her,,,,hahaha,,, glad you ended up keeping it,,, keep up the nice work,,,,and definitely post more pics as you make progress... the shaved drip rails look good too,,,,,
Holy Chit dude!!! Sam your a RULER DUDE!!!!!! i don't think your capable of building a bad looking car!! your proportions are always right on the money!!! i always look forward to your projects
that is a very nice chop in my eyes. im a rain gutter type guy just because it help break up the c-pillar. when the rear window is not slid forward it makes the c-pillar to large with out the gutter in my worthless opinion. your merc looks spot on!! i like it! bob your merc is 4" on the A pillar and 4" verticle on the C pillar...unless my cuts were alittle crooked and i cleaned them up maybe 4-1/4" in the back
Lookin good Sam!How did you do it above the rear window?Chopped Mercs are for HOMOS........heres mine
COOL! SAM, I'm proud of you!! You will love it forever! I burned the ***le of my 49, now I can never sell it!! The chop looks real good, damn, I like drip rails........OLDBEET
since those pics,i went back and made a couple relief cuts above the rear window on each side to lessen the crown.
That's funny cause I know another guy who told me the same thing about his Merc! Who knows...I know **** chopped both cars. Which one was last? Don't really care! Only **** can answer that question...Both cars are nice.
Sam,who cares what people say???do what you feel and f##k off the rest... BTW,love to see building pix on cars ,especially 49/51 Mercs...is a sickness! and yours start to be REALLY cool... not so fond on the slightly angled B pillar, perfer more for the dinamic impression but who cares my opinion you're on the right track, just keep going .... i fully agree with BadBob,as many Mercs on the road again the better... please, keep postin Sam...
YEP! It would be cool to go to a show and see more than the usual 2 or 3 Mercs there. The only exception is the Primer Nats! There's always a bunch there...
I love the thick c pillar on the **** Dean chop!I could naver own a chopped merc with the back window moved forward. Hey Sam Your roof looks good. The important thing is that the heights are right. It looks like it was done straight out of thet article in the 80s with Butch Hurlhey chopping Curley Tremaynes candy caramel chopped 50.Im sure any one who sees it will say it looks great.
Wow that quarter window are perfect. I love kanted B pillars on all chops, but that is a perfect angle. 49's and 50's look so good chopped the right way. I love how the back window looks like it was just placed, almost like a cap on the roof. Its hard to explain, but it looks great.
thanks guys! 00 Mack, that sounds interesting,I would really like to check that out.do you have a scan of it?
Sam Sam Sam... you are doing that merc right. I like the roof.. and was surprised to open the post to see you had cut it already. As for your comment about what you think a lowered car is (pic of the chevy). Now I find that funny coming from you. I thought you liked your **** hammered more then that (based on your 56). but for a traditional styled merc, sitting alittle higher is not a bad thing.
