I am working on a 1950 Biz Coupe, and I want to know if there is an 'easy' upgrade for the REAR brakes on this car. I'd like to find more modern backing plates/adjusters/shoes that would work, if that is possible. The size and function of the brakes is OK as is- not looking for bigger brakes necessarily, but I'd love to find some self adjusting brakes that are a more or less bolt on. Looking to get away from the complicated and frequent adjustment procedure. I am going to install the front disc setup as per the Scarebird site, so the front is covered. Is there anything that will work with the factory hubs and drums? I don't really want to subs***ute another rear axle just for the drum brakes, but... Thanks, Greg Moundsville, WV
B body mopars, ford ranger, Mazda pickup, explorer, jeep Cherokee, early Dakota, all use same lug bolt pattern most require spring and shock mount fabrication. Go to P -15 D-24.com resource / down loads area for more comprehensive list and search the discussion area for rear ends for a couple recent threads which included ford pieces with disc brakes.
